Security

Explore our volunteer opportunities and help keep our parish safe!

In light of the national tragedies many schools and churches have faced regarding active shooters, our trained Security Team stays aware of their surroundings and reacts quickly in times of distress.

Father Joe started the Security team seven years ago to be “Proactive” and not “Reactive.” We have a great Security Team and are always looking for new volunteers. We need not only armed security, but also non-armed security people who can help with crowd control, medical issues, and the like.

We look for medical professionals, in the field or retired. We also look for  prior military or law enforcement people. We have all of that on our current team. Even if you do not have that type of experience, we will train you to become Situationally Aware and ready to help when needed.

You must be able to stand for three-to-four hours at a time and be able to pick someone up who may need help or medical attention.

This volunteer group is not for everyone. You will not only be a first responder, but you will put your life on the line to protect the church and its parishioners.

Some requirements are:

  • Must be a Parishioner
  • Submit to a background check
  • CPR Training / Stop the Bleed / Basic First Aid / Stop-Choking

***Armed security goes through much more and has to qualify at the range, no exceptions, before you get to be on the team.

It is a lot of work to keep the community safe, but everyone on the team will tell you it’s worth it. If you feel you have what it takes, please contact Security Director Michael Logie by clicking on the button below with your questions or for more information.

God bless and stay safe!
