KOC Winter Coat Fundraiser
The Knights of Columbus will be donating winter coats to those in need!
Over the years the total number of coats given away has surpassed over one million nationwide! Last year, the John F. Kennedy Council, which many men of this parish belong, donated over 240 coats! Those coats were given to children attending Holden Elementary, Black Elementary and Wilde Elementary along with Beer Middle School in Warren Consolidated School District. Coats were also given to students in the Fraser and Chippewa Valley School Districts. The administrators from these schools know the needs and distribute coats to those most in-need.
This year the Council would like to do more!
The price of the cases has increased to about $40 per case. If we place our order before the end of August, the Supreme Order of the Knights will match our purchase to buy one-get one free! With Fr. Joe’s approval, the Knights will be asking everyone attending Mass on the weekend of August 2nd & 3rd to donate just one dollar per person. This will help us purchase coats for those kids in need during the winter months.
It is a good opportunity to show young children how charity works by taking a dollar from their piggybank and giving it to help kids who need to stay warm. With nearly 1,000 people attending weekend Masses, that dollar per-person will go a long way. Members of the Knights will be in front of the church the weekend of August 2nd & 3rd to collect your donations.
