What greater way to walk in the steps of Christ than to share our blessings with those around us that are less fortunate!

1 Timothy 6:18 states: “Tell them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, ready to share, thus accumulating as treasure a good foundation for the future, so as to win the life that is true life.”

The Tree of Life provides us an opportunity to put Timothy’s words into action.

Listed below are the organizations that need our assistance this Lenten Season:

  • St. Aloysius-Serves the homeless in Detroit and the Metro Detroit area
  • Most Holy Trinity-Serves the homeless and low-income families in Detroit
  • Arch Diocese of Detroit Works of Mercy-Project Hope–Project Hope helps mothers in need to help with caring for their infant and toddler children in the Detroit area
  • Turning Point-A center for serving the needs of abused women and their children
  • Pope Francis Center-Serves the homeless in Detroit and the Metro Detroit area
  • St. Malachy-For the people of our community who come to our door requesting money for food, gas money, or to help with utility bills. (We would like to kindly request the cards be in smaller denominations of no more than $25)
  • Wayne County Jail Ministry (through Arch Diocese of Detroit)-Services to men who have been released from jail to help them with rehabilitation into society

As these shelters and centers see their needs increasing, and more people are in need of our help, please consider taking a tag or two from our Tree Of Life, which will be set up in the church starting Saturday, March 12th.

Donations should be returned by the weekend of April 2nd and 3rd.

If you have any questions regarding this year’s Tree of Life donations, please contact Mary Anne Kadets!
