Dear Parishioners of St. Malachy Catholic Church,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this letter to you about an incident that occurred today in-front of our outdoor shrine.
This afternoon, during a time when our church was not hosting any activities, an individual was discovered deceased outside of the shrine. Sterling Heights police have indicated that there were no signs of foul play. There does not appear to be any connection between this individual and our parish community, other than that the individual was known to visit the shrine on occasion.
This death is sure to raise emotions, concerns, and questions in our community. Let us begin as we begin all things: with prayer for the individual involved and for their family. May God grant
them peace and rest in His loving arms.
