The Gift of Giving

The St. Malachy Giving Tree is back!

What greater way to walk in the steps of Christ than to share our blessings with those around us that are less fortunate!

“Tell them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, ready to share, thus accumulating as treasure a good foundation for the future, so as to win the life that is true life.” 1 Timothy 6:18

The Giving Tree provides us an opportunity to put Timothy’s words into action.
Listed below are the organizations that need our assistance this year to be able to help those in need:
St. Aloysius Serves the homeless in Detroit and Metro Detroit area.
Most Holy Trinity Serves the homeless and low income families in Detroit.
St. Padre Pio is a baby closet serving the needy families in our Macomb area.
Mary’s Children & Family Center is a center for serving the needs of Children & Adults with brain injuries.
Gianna House houses pregnant teens and helps new mothers with supplies.
Pope Francis Center serves the homeless in Detroit and the Metro Detroit area.
Vets Returning Home is a center to help Veterans returning home to get back on their feet and on with their lives.
St. Malachy helps the people of our community who come to our door requesting money for food, gas money, or to help with utility bills. (We would like to kindly request the cards be in smaller denominations of no more than $25.)
Wayne County Jail has a ministry through the Arch Diocese of Detroit that offers service to men who have been released from jail to help them with rehabilitation into society.
As these above shelters and centers see their needs increasing, and more and more people are in need of our help, please consider taking a tag or two from our Giving Tree which will be set up at the front of the church starting Saturday, November 20th.
Donations should be returned by the weekend ofDecember 11th and 12th.
If you are someone in need, please leave a message for Joan Jeffers through the church office and she will return your call.
All requests are confidential.
If you have any questions regarding this year’s Giving Tree donations, please contact Mary Anne Kadets and she will be happy help you!
